Eligibility Criteria for IAF Airmen in X&Y Group, Airforce now under of Agnipath Schemeand for which the Best Airforce Academy in Hisar will prepare and qualify you.
Passed 12th/ Intermediate/ Equivalent examination with Maths, Physics, and English.
With a minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Or Passed 3-year Diploma course in Engineering in any stream.
Group ‘Y’ (Except IAF(S) and musician trades)
Passed 12th/ intermediate/ Equivalent examination in any stream.
With minimum 50% Marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English or in vocational course or in Intermediate/ Matriculation if English is not a subject in vocational course.
Age Limit
In case, the candidate clears all the stages of the selection procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrollment is 21 years.

f Phase II

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
There will be 1.6 km run to be completed within 6 min 30 sec.
Candidate shall also have to complete 10 push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the physical fitness test
Adaptability Test-1 (For both Group X&Y)
All candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-1 (Objective type test one) which is to assess the suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather, and operational conditions. Adaptability Test-2 (For both Group X&Y)
All candidates who passed Adaptability Test-1 shall have to undertake Adaptability Test 2 as per policy in vogue. Adaptability test 2 is to select a candidate who can adapt to the environment of IAF and are able to adjust to the Military way of life.
Medical test
General Medical Standards for both Group ‘X’ and ‘Y’ and Musician are as follows:
Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms.
Chest: Minimum range of expansion 5 cm
Weight: Proportionate to height and age. However the minimum weight of 55 KG required for Operations Assistant Trade Only
Corneal Surgery is not Acceptable
Hearing: The candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each year separately
Dental: The candidate should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points
Provisional Selection List (PSL)

Tenure & Training.
Enrolment shall be for a period as may be specified at the time of enrolment which may be extendable by the period as specified at the time of enrolment. The airmen whose service is extended with superannuate at the age of 57 years (subject to service conditions). Initially, candidates shall be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT)] at any of the Training Institute i.e Basic Training Institute [Belagavi (Karnataka)]s, No. 2 ATS (Naliya) and ‘B’ Flight of MTTI (Avadi) or a station as decided by the Air HQs. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and discipline or is found to be medically unfit
AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF ALL STAGES OF TRAINING, THE AIRMEN SHALL BE DEPLOYED ON JOBS AS PER THEIR ALLOTTED TRADES. ALLOTTED TRADE SHALL NOT BE CHANGED ON CANDIDATE’S REQUEST ON ANY GROUNDS.
Indian Airforce Salary
During training, a stipend of rupees 14,600/- per month shall be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Military Service Pay Group X pay (applicable for Group X Only) and Dearness Allowances (DA) will be as follow.
Group ‘X’ Trades – RS 33,100/- per month plus DA (as applicable) which, in subsequent year, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.
Group ‘Y’ RS 26’900/- per month plus DA (as applicable) which, in subsequent year, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.
Other Allowances. In addition to the above, various allowances such as Transport Allowance, Personal Maintenance Allowance, Leave Ration Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, Field area/ Modified Field Area Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Children Education Allowance/ Hostel Subsidy etc., shall also be admissible from time to time as applicable.
Perks such as Ration, Clothing, Medical facilities, accommodation, CDS (Canteen) Facilities, Leave (Days annual and 30 days casual or as per the terms and the condition at the time of enrolment in a calendar year as a privilege, subject to service exigencies), Recreational facilities, Transport facilities for school going children and leave travel concession shall also be provided as per the existing rules.
Also, Group insurance Cover of RS 50 Lakhs at a premium of RS 3200/- per month for all Airmen
Career Progression
Promotion.
Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO) subject to service being extended at applicable stages. Opportunities to become a Commissioned Officers also Exist for those airmen who qualify the prescribed Examinations, later during their service career.
